Host family number one

I don’t have internet in my room, so I am typing this now, but will put it up later when I have internet, so please don’t be confused.

I am now with my first host family, and they are amazing. My host mother is one of the Japanese teacher’s sister. As I already told you, I ate dinner with said Japanese teacher last night. When my host parents walked into the room where we were waiting, they recognized me immediately, and didn’t need for me to be called out. My host mom showed me that her sister had snuck a picture of me with her cell phone at dinner, and sent it to her. We sat together and talked for a while in the meeting room, both of my host parents know a lot of english, but they try to use Japanese with me, because they know I want to learn a lot while I’m here. It is nice that if I can’t understand the Japanese though they can usually translate it.
My host mother teaches at Kumon, and my host father teaches at a university in Nagoya once a week. Their daughter is a professional singer, and has two adorable kids that are scared of me. The boy is 4 years old, and his name is Taiki. The girl is almost 2 years old, and her name is Miyu. I think Miyu cries every time she sees me, so I was trying to stay out of her way. But she is really really cute! They also have a dog named Hana who is very old, and very adorable. I think they told me they have a cat, but I have yet to see it.
After they picked me up, they drove me from Ichinomiya station to my school, to help me remember how to get there. I still don’t remember… but I have a map. Also, I think my host mom told me that we would go together tomorrow, but I’m not sure… I have a very long commute to school, but my host parents will drive me to the station here (I forget the name) from there I will take a train to Ichinomiya station, and then walk the rest of the way to school.
Oh yes, about my host family’s car, it is crazy awesome. I mean it was the first Japanese car that I’ve ridden in, so I don’t know if they are all like this… but it is a cute little van, and it has like a TV in the front seat. At first I thought it was a GPS, because it was showing a map, but then my host dad changed the channel and started watching a talk show. There was still a voice saying where we were though, it sounded like the voices on the bus that tell you at which stop you are arriving.
Next we went to a grocery store to buy food for lunch and breakfast. We bought lots of delicious bread, my host mom had me pick out a lot, most of it is sweet.  we also bought some fruit and some vegetables. While we were in the store, my host dad asked me what I like to drink, and I said “ocha” which is Japanese tea, so he told me I was very cheap. Haha. When we came home we ate lunch, which was a sandwich, some of that yummy bread, watermelon, corn soup, and a salad. Basically it was too much food. I was very very tired at this point, so they told me to go sleep in my room, which I did, and then they woke me up for dinner. Of course I wasn’t very hungry, because I had just ate and then slept, but they still gave me lots and lots of food. For dinner we had Curry rice :D <3 (I LOVE CURRY RICE, and my host mom’s was AMAZING), tofu, a salad, corn, fig, grapes, and I was also offered some more bread afte all of this, but I was waay too full. Oh, and I was offered a banana and more grapes to take up to my room for later, but I didn’t think I would be able to eat them. Haha.
After dinner my host mom went to play with the grandkids. Oh yeah, so their daughter has a live show tonight, so they are babysitting. Anyway, so I was in the dining room talking with my host dad for a while. It was fun.
After that I took a bath, and came up to my room. I am still very sleepy, but I think I’ll read, because I just found the stash of english books they have, and I believe I see Norwegian Wood by Haruki Murakami.
