Sports Festival

Today we got invited to the sports festival at Ichinomiya high school. After English for 2 hours, and then Japanese for 2 hours, we walked over to Ichinnomiya koukou. When we got there, tug of war was in progress. It was pretty awesome. After multiple rounds of tug of war, everyone went back to their teams' areas, and then all of the guys took their shirts off, like at the same time. We didn't know what was going on, but a lot of the girls got a little excited. It turned out that they were getting ready for Kibasen, which is where 3 guys hold up a third guy, who attacks other guys in his same position. Everyone is going for the "captain" on the opposing team. So there always turned out to be this gigantic mob at each end of the field, and when the captain fell, everyone seemed to fall, they looked like a wave when they all fell over.
After Kibasen, the principal asked us if we would like a tour, so we went walking around where the students were sitting. There were three girls guiding us, and they were really scared of not knowing how to say what they wanted to in English. The leader was taking us from character to character (each team made these gigantic paper m'ache characters), and when we got to one, she would say "this is (character's name)," stand there awkwardly for a minute, like she was thinking of what she could say about it, then she would say "ok, next" and we would walk to the next one. I think it was around when we got to pikachu that a group of three guys approached us, and did like a comedy routine for us. it was amazing. Also, everywhere we went, people were smiling and waving at us. When we got to one area, however, right after the pikachu, girls were standing on their chairs, and screaming to us. A lot of people said they felt like celebrities. It was insanity!
Also, we stopped because there were a lot of people who wanted to talk to us. Fukutomi sensei was talking to these guys who would only introduce themselves to Hyden because they were scared of girls. But Fukutomi sensei asked me to talk to them, so I did, it was super awkward... but while I was having that conversation, everyone else started having conversations. So when my group wandered off, I just joined Kiara, who was talking to two guys. Those guys were super awesome, they were really fun and nice. While we were talking to them, something very loud was happening next to us, so we looked over. There were like 5 guys crowded around Alex and Shelby, and they were yelling "CHOOSE ME!" Apparently they had asked the girls to choose who was the coolest out of them. When they finally chose, the winners went running with excitement. It was intense....
Anyway, Fukutomi sensei told us we had to go back to our sitting place, so we had to leave our new friends. When we got back, she told us that we could go walking around some more. Kiara and I went back to find the two guys we were talking to b/c we didn't get their names or anything. But there were like a thousand students all wearing the same uniform, it was impossible to find them.... It was really sad.... But we did talk to some more people when we went out again, it was fun.
Yeah, so it's actually Saturday now, and it's kind of late at night, so I really don't remember what else happened that day. sooo... the end
